Hypnosis - What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural, focused and relaxed state. Without realizing it you will have often experienced it. Have you ever been engrossed in a fire, a book or a movie? This is hypnosis, a peaceful and creative state of inner absorption. Hypnosis is similar to meditation or day dreaming and is also a natural learning state where positive suggestions are more easily accepted and acted upon. Because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and you choose what to focus on, it can be a powerful tool for change.

Is Hypnosis safe?

It is not only safe it is healthy and enhances all the functions of your body. In clinical hypnosis you are aware and in control. You will not do anything against your will. You will only accept the suggestions that you want to. (People in stage shows in hypnosis are aware of what they are doing and consent to it). If an emergency should arise, or if you should go to sleep, you will naturally awaken.

With as little as ten minutes practice a day you can easily access positive states of calm and confidence. When having your baby with HypnoBirthing®, you will be relaxed, in good spirits and fully in control. You will be aware of your body's progression through labour while choosing to experience your birthing in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation, without the fear and tension that cause pain. Your body's natural anesthesia (endorphins) will replace the stress hormones that cause pain.
